I’m afraid I can’t. I don’t know how. I’d be crazy to give up music. Music would fill all my spare time!

You write on Twitter, @Serendipity. You’ve also written for the Onion, Gawker Media and MTV.

They are a fantastic place to write an honest, funny and edgy thing. And for me, I just want to be a good writer and not be a bad writer…[the Onion] is probably a pretty honest place — just not my cup of tea? I feel like my job isn’t being honest. I have to keep it up.

Do you like to eat?

I enjoy the foods I cook. I feel like everything has an opposite reaction to what I’m eating. I like pizza with olive oil, and I try and stick to the real deal. I like the real cheese, too. I can’t get enough of it, it’s delicious.

Your Twitter handle is Serendipity, you call yourself the “slightly obsessed” and your Twitter followers include actors, actors and people who were on the show “Modern Family”. Do you miss all of those guys?

I know if I could make the universe do something, I’d probably love them even more! They made me feel so much more like themselves. I’ve been there for that time period.

And what do you see in a modern sitcom?

It always makes us laugh, it always does! There’s nothing more comforting. And it’s always fun to be on a show where you are playing yourself and writing and just having fun. I’m really enjoying writing new stuff with my new wife that I haven’t worked on. It’s so much more of a family drama and I just feel like being creative and being able to show that side also. We were talking about it recently and I think that’s where the magic is happening.

What are you getting out of it?

It’s still the most fun show that’s ever been on the air. It’s weird, you’re always thinking of things. I feel like it’s so much fun and fresh and so silly. It’s a show for those who have little kids.

Are you worried the show can take off?

We’re just looking forward to the next season. [Showrunner] David Eick wants to see if they can keep the momentum going, so we’re gonna stick with it!
